Artist's Comments
IT IS DONE!!! FINALLY!!! God, this took forever and a year.
The original lineart comments on Tattered's deviation said this was Isolde from the story of Tristan & Isolde. I didn't actually see Isolde but Morgane/Margain/Morgan/Morgana le Fay, King Arthur's half-sister. Morgane is really one of the "bad" characters in Arthurian legend as she loves tormenting her younger half-brother Arthur. I love it overall. There are some issues but overall, I like it. The smoke isn't how I envisioned it but it looks nice. I think I used so few techniques that I'm used to doing--the hair is the only technique that I was truly comfortable doing as I've done that technique a million times. The skin is a different spin on an old way I color skin. The hair and skin are probably the only things that you can tell in my other coloring deviations like "Vampiress" that seem the same. Everything else was experimentation. I had to carefully cut out the finished product because I got a little overzealous and got paint splatter marks all over the original's sides and stuff. Don't even ask me how much time this took. I redid it so many times I've ceased counting. I think I had the skin, dress and hair done months ago. Everything else was done within the last five days. It's all colored pencil or watercolor pencil (even if it doesn't look like it). -------------- Lineart: Blank Lineart: [link] Original Coloring: [link] -------------- Crayola Colors: Maroon Pale Rose Pink Magenta Red Bubble Gum Aqua Green Sky Blue Teal Light Blue Cerulean Navy Blue Green Lime Green Pine Green Jade Green Yellow-green Green-blue Metallic Gold Metallic Silver Lemon Yellow Orange Mango Yellow Orange Yellow Red Orange Salmon Golden Yellow Violet Mauve Orchid Sand Peach Tan Taupe Light Brown Brown Mahogany Dark Brown Black Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils: WC2924-Crimson Red WC2926-Carmine Red WC2918-Orange WC21003-Spanish Orange WC2917-Sunburst Yellow WC2903-True Blue WC2902-Ultramarine WC21027-Peacock Blue WC2909-Grass Green WC2910-True Green WC2913-Spring Green WC2908-Dark Green |
